Xavi makes big statement on Messi’s future.
New FC Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has ruled out a possible return for Lionel Messi to the Catalan giants.
As Venasbet reported last week, Xavi is back home to manager the La Liga giants after Ronald Koeman was relieved of his duties following a poor start.
During his first address to the media, Xavi was asked if he had any contact with Messi and if there are any expectations of bringing the Argentine back to Barca.
“Leo Messi texted me to wish the best of luck,” he said, according to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
“He’s incredible but he’s not here as Eto’o or Ronaldinho… we’ve to think about the future, not about players who’re no longer here at Barca.”
Meanwhile, Xavi is training his side for the Spanish La Liga battle against Espanyol this weekend.
